Sarawak Trip

What an amazing trip that I had with my cousin and his friend in Kuching, Sarawak on the 12th Jan 2010 to 16th Jan 2010.

12-01-2010
1630: Arrived at the Penang International Airport and checked in. Soon after that we took off and had our 2hours flight to Kuching.
2030: Arrived at Kuching International Airport and picked up by my cousin’s friend and his sister to his house. Thanks to him we have a very warm welcoming night in his house and had tried many local foods soon after we arrived in Kuching. We had our dinner at the 101 food center where we can find many, many foods there. Yam, yam…

13-01-2010
0700: Wake up and prepare for the day.
0830: Breakfast, thanks to that friend’s mum who prepare it for us, thank you.
0900: Raining but we still go out to for our activities.
1st stop, we brought the local special thing, guess what, PAPPER!!
Next we go around to find a place where we can over night but before that we had a stop at a place where people use to stop to take some pictures, the big cat!
Finally we found a place and settle down, then we go have our lunch and then shopping!!!
Although the rain still haven’t stop but we had decided to go for the Orang Utan’s place. After a long ride and a long search, we ended up with nothing but only had the experience on walking in the ‘rain forest’.
When we back to the town, the rain still go on but that doesn’t stop us from moving around to find our dinner, we had ‘pau’, ‘sio bee’ and ‘fried paki’ for dinner. Nice!
2200: Go to bed and sleep…

14-01-2010
0600: wake up and start prepare. After that my cousin and I had a visit to one of the Chinese temple there, nice temple with very beautiful structures.
0730: Having breakfast at the lodge that we are staying with bread and tea.
0900: The van pick us up and go to the place where I can said is the pick throughout our whole trip here, Sarawak Cultural Village.
1015: Arrived there and check in, soon after that we go around the village, total of 7 ethnic houses there for us to visit, Bidayuh, Iban, Penan, Orang Ulu, Melanau, Malays, and Chinese. Before having our lunch there we had the chance to watch the cultural show, great show!! I’m lovin it.
1800: 3 of us walked to a side where we can see the great South China Sea, the Damai Beach. It was a monsoon season so that the strong wind had made the wave look big and scary…
1900: back to the village for our dinner.
2000: back to the Iban Long House that we are going to overnight and that shower and then sit beside the place where they set fire and then we all begin our sharing. Together with our guide and 2 of his friend, we have another British couple and a guy from KL to join us there. After a long sharing we all had, some have left and go to their beds but 3of use still there for more. We requested the guide’s friends to show us how they catch fish during nighttime with spear… Sadly we end up killing a bird but not fish. Bedtime for us then.

15-01-2010
0800: Wake up and prepare ourselves then go for our breakfast, soon after that we go and took some more pictures and then we decided to go to watch the show again. Then we have a chance to made ourselves a bracelet, thank you all in the Cultural Village so, so much.
0930: The Van picked us up and we head back to Kuching town area. So sad to say goodbye to all the people there.
1030: Reached town and we settle down in another lodge, Sarawak Café. Nice place and the people there are very warm. After shower and then we go lunch and shopping again, apart from that we also go visit the other 2 Chinese temples and the Chinese Museum. Along the way we keep on eating and eating.
2200: back to our room and do our daily accounting, fun!!!

16-01-2010
0800: After preparing ourselves, we had our breakfast at the lodge that we are staying and then packed all our things and checked out.
0900: Go to another temple and pray, after that go shopping and took more pictures, not forgetting ‘hao kor’ along the way. Haha…
1715: Back to the lodge to pick up our begs and then off we go to the airport. Before we leave we had took a pictures with the people there, nice…
1830: checked in for our flight and then started our daily accounting and then divide our things.
2110: inside the flight because of the delay if not we should be on the plane at 8 something.
2320: Reached Penang safely and then back to my house… (Next day back to UUM, T___T)

Great trip that I had, thanks to everyone there, thanks to my cousin for many things, thanks to his friends for the stay and camera, last but not least, thanks to Air Asia for the 0fair flight.
